A bill for an act
relating to economic development; appropriating money for the city of South St.
Paul.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $200,000 in fiscal year 2020 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to the city of South St. Paul for
environmental analysis and geotechnical studies of the vacant and blighted 25-acre brownfield
site lying between Concord Street and the Mississippi River, necessary to prepare the site
for future redevelopment. The city of South St. Paul shall contribute 25 percent matching
funds for the project before grant funds are released.
