  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state government; providing for 
  1.3             administration of the state employee combined 
  1.4             charities campaign; appropriating money; amending 
  1.5             Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 43A.04, by adding a 
  1.6             subdivision. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 43A.04, is 
  1.9   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 12.  [COMBINED CHARITIES CAMPAIGN.] The commissioner 
  1.11  shall administer the state employee combined charities 
  1.12  campaign.  This duty includes registration of combined 
  1.13  charitable organizations under section 309.501, and coordination 
  1.14  and administration of the process under which state employees 
  1.15  contribute to combined charitable organizations. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.17     $20,000 in fiscal year 2002 and $20,000 in fiscal year 2003 
  1.18  is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of 
  1.19  employee relations for purposes of administering the state 
  1.20  employee combined charities campaign as required by section 1.
