  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to game and fish; exempting minors from game 
  1.3             and fish license Social Security number requirement; 
  1.4             amending Minnesota Statutes 2003 Supplement, section 
  1.5             97A.482. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2003 Supplement, section 
  1.8   97A.482, is amended to read: 
  1.9      97A.482 [LICENSE APPLICATIONS; COLLECTION OF SOCIAL 
  1.10  SECURITY NUMBERS.] 
  1.11     (a) All applicants age 18 or older for individual 
  1.12  noncommercial game and fish licenses under this chapter and 
  1.13  chapters 97B and 97C must include the applicant's social 
  1.14  security number on the license application.  If an applicant 
  1.15  does not have a Social Security number, the applicant must 
  1.16  certify that the applicant does not have a Social Security 
  1.17  number. 
  1.18     (b) The Social Security numbers collected by the 
  1.19  commissioner on game and fish license applications are private 
  1.20  data under section 13.49, subdivision 1, and must be provided by 
  1.21  the commissioner to the commissioner of human services for child 
  1.22  support enforcement purposes.  Title IV-D of the Social Security 
  1.23  Act, United States Code, title 42, section 666(a)(13), requires 
  1.24  the collection of Social Security numbers on game and fish 
  1.25  license applications for child support enforcement purposes.
