  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to transit; appropriating money for greater 
  1.3             Minnesota transit and for metropolitan transit. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [TRANSIT APPROPRIATIONS.] 
  1.6      Subdivision 1.  [GREATER MINNESOTA TRANSIT.] $30,840,000 in 
  1.7   fiscal year 2002 and $30,861,000 in fiscal year 2003 are 
  1.8   appropriated to the commissioner of transportation from the 
  1.9   general fund for greater Minnesota transit.  Of those amounts, 
  1.10  $30,002,000 in fiscal year 2002 and $30,002,000 in fiscal year 
  1.11  2003 are for greater Minnesota transit assistance and $838,000 
  1.12  in fiscal year 2002 and $859,000 in fiscal year 2003 are for 
  1.13  transit administration.  Any unencumbered balance the first year 
  1.14  does not cancel but is available for the second year. 
  1.15     Subd. 2.  [METROPOLITAN TRANSIT.] $106,202,000 in fiscal 
  1.16  year 2002 and $106,202,000 in fiscal year 2003 are appropriated 
  1.17  to the metropolitan council from the general fund for 
  1.18  metropolitan transit.  Any unencumbered balance the first year 
  1.19  does not cancel but is available for the second year.
