  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to elections; requiring disclosures by 
  1.3             certain persons conducting polls; proposing coding for 
  1.4             new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 211B. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [211B.22] [POLLING; REQUIRED DISCLOSURES.] 
  1.7      A person who conducts a poll by telephone or any other 
  1.8   method in which the polling is intended to influence the person 
  1.9   being polled to support or oppose a candidate must disclose to 
  1.10  the person being polled: 
  1.11     (1) who the person represents in conducting the poll; 
  1.12     (2) the name of the candidate, principal campaign 
  1.13  committee, or political party unit, if any, that has authorized 
  1.14  the poll; and 
  1.15     (3) the name, telephone number, and address of a contact 
  1.16  person where the person being polled can get more information 
  1.17  about the polling effort.
