  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to veterans; authorizing the placement of 
  1.3             plaques on the capitol grounds recognizing the service 
  1.4             of Minnesota's members of the Merchant Marine and of 
  1.5             the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) during World 
  1.6             War II. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [PLAQUES HONORING MINNESOTA'S MEMBERS OF THE 
  1.9   MERCHANT MARINE AND WOMEN AIRFORCE SERVICE PILOTS (WASP).] 
  1.10     A memorial plaque recognizing Minnesota's members of the 
  1.11  Merchant Marine who served during World War II and a memorial 
  1.12  plaque recognizing Minnesota's members of the Women Airforce 
  1.13  Service Pilots (WASP) who served during World War II may be 
  1.14  placed in the court of honor on the capitol grounds.  The 
  1.15  plaques must be furnished by a person or organization other than 
  1.16  the department of veterans affairs and approved by the 
  1.17  commissioner of veterans affairs and the capitol area 
  1.18  architectural and planning board. 
  1.19     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.20     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
