  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; permitting guidance and 
  1.3             counseling services to be provided at nonpublic 
  1.4             schools; amending Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 
  1.5             123.935, subdivision 2. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 123.935, 
  1.8   subdivision 2, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 2.  [LOCATION OF SERVICES.] Health services and 
  1.10  guidance and counseling services may be provided to nonpublic 
  1.11  school pupils pursuant to this section at a public school, a 
  1.12  neutral site, the nonpublic school or any other suitable 
  1.13  location.  Guidance and counseling services may be provided to 
  1.14  nonpublic school pupils pursuant to this section only at a 
  1.15  public school or a neutral site.  District or intermediary 
  1.16  service area personnel and representatives of the nonpublic 
  1.17  school pupils receiving pupil support services shall hold an 
  1.18  annual consultation regarding the type of services, provider of 
  1.19  services, and the location of the provision of these services.  
  1.20  The district board or intermediary service area governing board 
  1.21  shall make the final decision on the location of the provision 
  1.22  of these services.
