  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human rights; expanding the definition of 
  1.3             "employer" to cover certain temporary placements; 
  1.4             amending Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 363.01, 
  1.5             subdivision 17. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 363.01, 
  1.8   subdivision 17, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 17.  [EMPLOYER.] "Employer" means a person who has 
  1.10  one or more employees.  "Employer" includes a person who hires a 
  1.11  person under an agreement with an employment agency or service 
  1.12  including, but not limited to, an employment agency or service 
  1.13  that provides temporary employees for hire.
