  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to liquor; modifying a posting provision; 
  1.3             authorizing cities to issue licenses in addition to 
  1.4             the number allowed by law; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.5             2002, section 340A.318, subdivision 3. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 340A.318, 
  1.8   subdivision 3, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 3.  [POSTING; NOTICE.] Verified lists or statements 
  1.10  required by subdivision 2 shall be posted by the commissioner in 
  1.11  offices of the department in places available for public 
  1.12  inspection not later than the day Monday following receipt.  
  1.13  Documents posted shall constitute notice to every distiller, 
  1.14  manufacturer, or wholesaler of the information posted.  Actual 
  1.15  notic, however received, also constitutes notice. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [LOCAL LICENSE APPROVAL.] 
  1.17     Notwithstanding the limits provided under Minnesota 
  1.18  Statutes, section 340A.413, a city may issue intoxicating liquor 
  1.19  licenses as approved by its city council without authorization 
  1.20  by the legislature.  All other provisions of Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.21  chapter 340A, apply to licenses issued by cities under this 
  1.22  section. 
  1.23     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective July 1, 2003.
