  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to gambling; clarifying conduct of social 
  1.3             dice games; amending Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 
  1.4             609.761, subdivision 4. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 609.761, 
  1.7   subdivision 4, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 4.  [SOCIAL DICE GAMES.] Sections 609.755 and 609.76 
  1.9   do not prohibit dice games conducted on the premises and 
  1.10  adjoining rooms of a retail establishment licensed to sell 
  1.11  alcoholic beverages if the following requirements are satisfied: 
  1.12     (1) the games consist of board games played with dice or 
  1.13  commonly known dice games such as "shake-a-day," "3-2-1," "who 
  1.14  buys," "last chance," "liar's poker," "6-5-4," "horse," and 
  1.15  "aces"; 
  1.16     (2) wagers or cash prizes for the games are limited to food 
  1.17  or beverages do not exceed $200; and 
  1.18     (3) individual participants compete against each other and 
  1.19  not against the retail establishment does not organize or 
  1.20  participate; and 
  1.21     (4) no person or retail establishment organizing the game 
  1.22  has an interest in the outcome of or participates financially in 
  1.23  the games.
