A bill for an act
relating to waters; appropriating money for River Watch program.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin RED RIVER OF THE NORTH RIVER WATCH PROGRAM;
APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $150,000 in fiscal year 2018 and $150,000 in fiscal year 2019 are appropriated from the
clean water fund to the commissioner of the Pollution Control Agency for a grant to the
Red River Watershed Management Board to enhance and expand the existing water quantity,
quality, and watershed monitoring and watershed education activities of River Watch in the
Minnesota schools in the Red River of the North basin. The Red River Watershed
Management Board must:

new text begin (1) provide an equal match for this appropriation; and

new text begin (2) by February 15, 2019, report to the commissioner and the chairs and ranking minority
members of the senate and house of representatives committees and divisions with jurisdiction
over environment and natural resources finance and policy and the clean water fund on the
expenditure of these funds.
