  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to traffic regulations; regulating the use of 
  1.3             high-occupancy vehicle lanes on marked interstate 
  1.4             highways 394 and 35W. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [COMMISSIONER OF TRANSPORTATION; HIGH-OCCUPANCY 
  1.7   VEHICLE LANE USE.] 
  1.8      For lanes located on marked interstate highways 394 and 35W 
  1.9   that on the effective date of this act were restricted to 
  1.10  high-occupancy vehicles only, the commissioner of 
  1.11  transportation, by executive order, shall: 
  1.12     (1) restrict those lanes between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 
  1.13  9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday to 
  1.14  high-occupancy vehicles and commercial vehicles with a 
  1.15  registered gross vehicle weight of more than 26,000 pounds; and 
  1.16     (2) allow the operation of all motor vehicles in those 
  1.17  lanes at all times except when their use is restricted under 
  1.18  clause (1).  In the case of lanes on marked interstate highway 
  1.19  394 the commissioner shall designate the direction in which 
  1.20  vehicles allowed to use the lanes under this clause must travel 
  1.21  and the hours during which travel in each direction is permitted.
