  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to senior nutrition programs; requiring a 
  1.3             report on the use of administrative funds; increasing 
  1.4             funding for congregate dining and home-delivered 
  1.5             meals; appropriating money. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [REPORT ON ADMINISTRATIVE FUNDS.] 
  1.8      The division of aging and adult services in the department 
  1.9   of human services shall prepare a report on the need for and use 
  1.10  of federal and state funds for administrative purposes by the 
  1.11  Minnesota board on aging and area agencies on aging.  The report 
  1.12  shall be presented to the legislature by February 16, 1996, and 
  1.13  shall provide detailed information on the most recent federal 
  1.14  and state fiscal years for which data is available. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATIONS; SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAMS.] 
  1.16     (a) [CONGREGATE DINING.] $720,000 in additional money is 
  1.17  appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of human 
  1.18  services for the biennium ending June 30, 1997, for the purpose 
  1.19  of funding congregate dining programs. 
  1.20     (b) [HOME-DELIVERED MEALS.] $330,000 in additional money is 
  1.21  appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of human 
  1.22  services for the biennium ending June 30, 1997, for the purpose 
  1.23  of funding home-delivered meal programs.
