  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to education; funding a pilot project to 
  1.3             demonstrate successful and effective integration of 
  1.4             technology to implement the graduation standards and 
  1.5             profile of learning; authorizing a grant to 
  1.6             independent school district No. 62, Ortonville; 
  1.7             appropriating money. 
  1.8   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.9      Section 1.  [TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION PROJECT.] 
  1.10     Subdivision 1.  [PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS.] A technology 
  1.11  integration pilot project is created to demonstrate successful 
  1.12  and effective uses of technology for students, teachers, 
  1.13  guidance counselors, administrators, and parents to implement 
  1.14  Minnesota's graduation standards and track student performance 
  1.15  in meeting the standards. 
  1.16     Subd. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] $200,000 is appropriated in 
  1.17  fiscal year 1999 from the general fund to the commissioner of 
  1.18  children, families, and learning for a grant to independent 
  1.19  school district No. 62, Ortonville, to implement the provisions 
  1.20  of subdivision 1. 
  1.21     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.22     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1998.
