  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to taxation; increasing the payment of 
  1.3             homestead and agricultural aid to certain cities; 
  1.4             amending Laws 1995, chapter 264, article 8, section 18.
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Laws 1995, chapter 264, article 8, section 18, 
  1.7   is amended to read: 
  1.8      Sec. 18.  [AID ADJUSTMENT.] 
  1.9      (a) Homestead and agricultural credit aid under Minnesota 
  1.10  Statutes, section 273.1398, subdivisions 2 and 8, for any 
  1.11  statutory city incorporated after January 1, 1975, which is 
  1.12  located in a county containing a city of the first class which 
  1.13  is not a metropolitan county under Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.14  473.121, subdivision 4, shall be permanently increased by 
  1.15  $200,000, beginning with aids payable in 1996. 
  1.16     (b) Homestead and agricultural credit aid under Minnesota 
  1.17  Statutes, section 273.1398, subdivisions 2 and 8, for any city 
  1.18  that received an aid increase under paragraph (a) shall be 
  1.19  permanently increased by an additional $300,000, beginning with 
  1.20  aids payable in 1999.
