1.2A bill for an act
1.3relating to crime; modifying crime and increasing sentence of interfering with
1.4a body or scene of death; appropriating money;amending Minnesota Statutes
1.52014, section 609.502, subdivision 1, by adding subdivisions.

1.11We, the undersigned conferees for H. F. No. 3469 report that we have agreed upon
1.12the items in dispute and recommend as follows:
1.13That the House concur in the Senate amendment and that H. F. No. 3469 be further
1.14amended as follows:
1.15Page 1, delete section 1 and insert:

"1.16    Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 609.502, subdivision 1, is amended to read:
1.17    Subdivision 1. Concealing evidence. Whoever A person is guilty of a crime and
1.18may be sentenced under subdivision 1a if the person interferes with the body or scene of
1.19death with intent to:
1.20(1) conceal the body;
1.21(2) conceal evidence; or
1.22(3) otherwise mislead the coroner or conceal evidence is guilty of a gross
1.23misdemeanor medical examiner.
1.24EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective August 1, 2016, and applies to crimes
1.25committed on or after that date.
"1.26Page 2, after line 2, insert:

"1.27    Sec. 3. TITLE.
1.28This act shall be known as "Laura's Law."
