A bill for an act
relating to solid waste; appropriating money for grant program to local units of
government to increase composting.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2015 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of the Pollution Control Agency to establish a program to award grants to local units of
government to initiate or expand programs to compost solid waste. In awarding grants
under this section, the commissioner shall give priority to local units of government that
have demonstrated a commitment to increase the proportion of their solid waste that is
recycled.
