  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to commerce; regulating the sale, rental, 
  1.3             discharge, and possession of paint ball guns; 
  1.4             providing penalties and remedies; proposing coding for 
  1.5             new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 325F. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [325F.815] [PAINT BALL GUNS.] 
  1.8      Subdivision 1.  [PROHIBITIONS.] (a) No person may sell, 
  1.9   rent, lend, or give a paint ball gun to a person under the age 
  1.10  of 18 without the written consent of the parent or legal 
  1.11  guardian. 
  1.12     (b) No person may discharge or possess a paint ball gun on 
  1.13  property owned by or under the control of the state or any of 
  1.14  its political subdivisions or of the board of regents of the 
  1.15  University of Minnesota. 
  1.16     Subd. 2.  [PENALTIES.] (a) A person who violates 
  1.17  subdivision 1 is guilty of a misdemeanor. 
  1.18     (b) The public and private remedies in section 8.31 apply 
  1.19  to violations of this section.
