A bill for an act
relating to state government; prohibiting a former legislator from registering as a
lobbyist for four years after leaving legislative office; proposing coding for new
law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 10A.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

[10A.1035] LOBBYING ACTIVITIES PROHIBITED.

A member of the legislature is prohibited from registering as a lobbyist for four years
after the expiration of the last term for which the legislative member was elected.

EFFECTIVE DATE.

This section is effective the day following final enactment and
applies to legislative members with terms beginning in 2021 and thereafter.
