A bill for an act
relating to transportation; highways; providing for general fund appropriations
for county state-aid highways; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
Statutes, chapter 162.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin Appropriation. new text end

new text begin (a) An amount, as determined under paragraph (b),
is annually appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner for the purposes
specified in this section.

new text begin (b) The amount of appropriation is calculated as the total amount of any
appropriations by law from the general fund for that fiscal year for transit operations in the
metropolitan area, as defined in section 473.121, subdivision 2, including but not limited
to bus, bus rapid transit, commuter rail, and light rail transit service.

new text begin Allocation of funds. new text end

new text begin The commissioner shall allocate the appropriation
under this section among the counties in the same manner as provided for allocation of the
apportionment sum under section 162.07, subdivision 1b.

new text begin Funds appropriated under this section may be used solely
for those segments of county state-aid highways that provide for the transporting of
agricultural products to market.
