  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; clarifying the definition of a 
  1.3             metro area school district; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 1999 Supplement, section 126C.10, subdivision 
  1.5             28. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1999 Supplement, section 
  1.8   126C.10, subdivision 28, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 28.  [EQUITY REGION.] For the purposes of computing 
  1.10  equity revenue under subdivision 23, a district whose 
  1.11  administrative offices on July 1, 1999, is borders encompass any 
  1.12  real property located in Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, 
  1.13  Ramsey, Scott, or Washington county is part of the metro equity 
  1.14  region.  Districts whose administrative offices on July 1, 1999, 
  1.15  are not borders do not include any real property located in 
  1.16  Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, or Washington 
  1.17  county are part of the rural equity region. 
  1.18     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.19     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment 
  1.20  and applies to revenue for fiscal year 2000 and later.
