  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to natural resources; modifying watercraft 
  1.3             license fees; removing personal watercraft surcharge; 
  1.4             amending Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 86B.415, 
  1.5             subdivision 1; repealing Minnesota Statutes 1998, 
  1.6             section 86B.415, subdivision 7a. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 86B.415, 
  1.9   subdivision 1, is amended to read: 
  1.10     Subdivision 1.  [WATERCRAFT 19 FEET OR LESS.] The fee for a 
  1.11  watercraft license for watercraft 19 feet or less in length is 
  1.12  $12 except: 
  1.13     (1) for watercraft, other than personal watercraft, 19 feet 
  1.14  in length or less that is offered for rent or lease, the fee is 
  1.15  $6; 
  1.16     (2) for a canoe, kayak, sailboat, sailboard, paddle boat, 
  1.17  or rowing shell 19 feet in length or less, the fee is $7 $6; 
  1.18     (3) for personal watercraft, the fee is $40; 
  1.19     (3) (4) for a watercraft 19 feet in length or less used by 
  1.20  a nonprofit corporation for teaching boat and water safety, the 
  1.21  fee is as provided in subdivision 4; and 
  1.22     (4) (5) for a watercraft owned by a dealer under a dealer's 
  1.23  license, the fee is as provided in subdivision 5. 
  1.24     Sec. 2.  [REPEALER.] 
  1.25     Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 86B.415, subdivision 7a, 
  1.26  is repealed.
