  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to utilities; requiring electric utilities to 
  1.3             disclose the components of their resource portfolio to 
  1.4             their retail customers; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.5             1994, section 216B.2422, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 216B.2422, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 7.  [RESOURCE PORTFOLIO; DISCLOSURE.] With regard to 
  1.10  the electricity distributed to the electric utility's retail 
  1.11  customers during the previous calendar year, each electric 
  1.12  utility, as defined in section 216B.38, subdivision 5, shall 
  1.13  clearly and separately list as a percentage the amount of 
  1.14  electricity generated by the use of each of the categories of 
  1.15  electric generation sources listed in section 216C.051, 
  1.16  subdivision 7, paragraph (c).  The disclosure must be made as a 
  1.17  billing insert by January 31 of each year for the previous 
  1.18  calendar year.
