  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to employment; requiring leaves of absence 
  1.3             without pay for employees rendering services as 
  1.4             members of the civil air patrol; proposing coding for 
  1.5             new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 181. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [181.946] [LEAVE FOR CIVIL AIR PATROL SERVICE.] 
  1.8      Subdivision 1.  [DEFINITIONS.] For purposes of this 
  1.9   section, "employee" and "employer" have the meanings given them 
  1.10  in section 181.945. 
  1.11     Subd. 2.  [UNPAID LEAVE REQUIRED.] An employer shall grant 
  1.12  a leave of absence without pay to an employee for time spent 
  1.13  rendering service as a member of the civil air patrol on the 
  1.14  request and under the authority of the state or any of its 
  1.15  political subdivisions.
