  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to family law; providing for vacation of 
  1.3             certain orders for protection upon request of the 
  1.4             petitioner; amending Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 
  1.5             518B.01, subdivision 11.  
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 518B.01, 
  1.8   subdivision 11, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 11.  [MODIFICATION OR VACATION OF ORDER.] (a) Upon 
  1.10  application, notice to all parties, and hearing, the court may 
  1.11  modify the terms of an existing order for protection or vacate 
  1.12  an order for protection.  
  1.13     (b) Upon request of the petitioner, the court shall vacate 
  1.14  a provision of an order for protection that prevents contact or 
  1.15  visitation with the respondent.
