  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to the city of Buffalo Lake; allowing an 
  1.3             extension to certify an ethanol facility for purposes 
  1.4             of tax increment financing. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [EXTENSION OF TIME FOR CERTIFICATION.] 
  1.7      Notwithstanding the provisions of Minnesota Statutes 1996, 
  1.8   section 273.1399, subdivision 6, paragraph (b), clause (2), tax 
  1.9   increment financing district 1-1 in the city of Buffalo Lake is 
  1.10  an exempt district under Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 
  1.11  273.1399, paragraph (b), if the facility is certified by the 
  1.12  commissioner of agriculture by December 31, 1998. 
  1.13     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.14     Section 1 is effective upon approval by the governing body 
  1.15  of the city of Buffalo Lake under Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.16  645.021, subdivision 2.
