relating to agriculture; appropriating money for sustainable agriculture
demonstration grants.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE
DEMONSTRATION GRANTS.

new text begin $280,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2014 and $280,000 is appropriated in fiscal
year 2015 from the general fund to the commissioner of agriculture for grants to farmers
for sustainable agriculture demonstration projects under Minnesota Statutes, section
17.116. Of the amount appropriated each year, the commissioner of agriculture may use up
to $20,000 to disseminate information about the demonstration projects. Notwithstanding
Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.28, the appropriations encumbered under contract on or
before June 30, 2015, are available until June 30, 2017.
