  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to taxation; allowing Lake of the Woods and 
  1.3             Koochiching counties to expend certain taxes in any 
  1.4             township; amending Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 
  1.5             163.06, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 163.06, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 7.  [EXPENDITURES IN LAKE OF THE WOODS AND 
  1.10  KOOCHICHING COUNTIES.] The county boards of Lake of the Woods 
  1.11  county and Koochiching county, by resolution, may expend the 
  1.12  funds provided in subdivision 4 in any organized or unorganized 
  1.13  township or portion thereof in their respective counties. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.15     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
