  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to education; providing funding for the 
  1.3             assurance of mastery program; appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [ASSURANCE OF MASTERY.] 
  1.6      $13,335,000 in fiscal year 1996 and $13,517,000 in fiscal 
  1.7   year 1997 are appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   department of education for the assurance of mastery program 
  1.9   according to Minnesota Statutes, section 124.311.  
  1.10     The 1996 appropriation includes $1,915,000 for 1995 and 
  1.11  $11,421,000 for 1996.  The 1997 appropriation includes 
  1.12  $2,015,000 for 1996 and $11,503,000 for 1997. 
  1.13     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.14     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1995.
