A bill for an act
 relating to transportation; amending statewide goals for reduction of greenhouse
gas emissions; amending Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 216H.02, subdivision
1.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 216H.02, subdivision 1, is amended to
read:


Subdivision 1.

Greenhouse gas emissions-reduction goal.

state to reduce statewide greenhouse gas emissionsnew text begin ,new text end across all sectors producing those
emissionsnew text begin ,new text end to a level at least 15 percent below 2005 levels by 2015, to a level at least 30
percent below 2005 levels by 2025, and to a level at least 80 percent below 2005 levels by

new text begin (b) It is the goal of the state to achieve, from the transportation sector, 25 percent of
the statewide greenhouse gas emissions reductions identified under paragraph (a).
