  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to public safety; relieving 911 dispatchers 
  1.3             from tort liability in certain cases; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 466.03, by adding a 
  1.5             subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 466.03, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 19.  [EMERGENCY MEDICAL DISPATCHING.] Any claim based 
  1.10  upon the acts or omissions of a 911 dispatcher operator 
  1.11  providing prearrival medical instructions, unless the claim is 
  1.12  based upon willful and wanton misconduct of the 911 dispatcher 
  1.13  or the municipality. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.15     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
