1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Senior Master Sergeant Charles P. Colstrom on his retirement.
1.3WHEREAS, Senior Master Sergeant Charles P. Colstrom is the Flight Chief of the 934th
1.4Logistics Readiness Squadron Materiel Management at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International
1.5Airport Air Reserve Station and, as the Flight Chief, he is involved in logistical planning of
1.6operations, deployments, sustainment, recovery, and support procedures as well as morale, quality
1.7of life, and enlisted force development; and
1.8WHEREAS, Senior Master Sergeant Colstrom, a native of Minneapolis, enlisted in the active
1.9duty Air Force in January 1986, and participated in basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in
1.10Texas in June and July of 1986; and
1.11WHEREAS, from 1986 to 1996, he served in the 3440th Technical Training Group at Lowry
1.12Air Force Base in Colorado, 3rd Supply Squadron at Clark Air Base in the Philippines, 82nd Supply
1.13Squadron at Williams Air Force Base in Arizona, 52nd Logistics Support Squadron at Spangdahlem
1.14Air Base in Germany, and 90th Logistics Support Squadron at Francis E. Warren Air Force Base
1.15in Wyoming; and
1.16WHEREAS, he joined the Air Force Reserve in August 1997 and was assigned to his current
1.17location with the 934th Airlift Wing of the 934th Logistics Support Squadron at the Minneapolis
1.18Air Reserve Station; and
1.19WHEREAS, prior to his current job as Flight Chief, he served as Supply Technician, Tractor
1.20Trailer Base Trainer, Remote Processing Systems Operator, Acting First Sergeant, and Wing
1.21Inspector General of Inspections; and
1.22WHEREAS, he has supported or been deployed throughout his career for campaigns including
1.23Desert Storm, Provide Comfort, Operation Joint Forge, and Joint Enterprise and has won many
1.24major awards and decorations; and
1.25WHEREAS, he has decided to retire effective July 1, 2019, with a retirement ceremony to
1.26be held on June 1, 2019, at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport at 760 Military Highway,
1.27Building 709; and
1.28NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.29commends Senior Master Sergeant Charles P. Colstrom on his many years of dedicated service to
1.30his country and state, and it extends best wishes to him in his retirement.
1.31BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.32enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.33Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Senior Master Sergeant
1.34Charles P. Colstrom.
