1.2declaring November 1 Minnesota Beer Day. 1.3WHEREAS, Minnesota has a storied tradition of brewing in the state; and 1.4WHEREAS, Minnesota is the home of the second-oldest family-owned brewery in the United 1.5States, August Schells Brewing Company; and 1.6WHEREAS, Minnesota is known the world over by brewing collectors and historians as 1.7"the land of sky blue waters"; and 1.8WHEREAS, Minnesota is home to over 200 craft breweries across the state, supplying jobs 1.9and economic growth to the state; and 1.10WHEREAS, the consumer of beer in Minnesota has more options at their local breweries, 1.11bars and restaurants, and liquor stores than ever before; and 1.12WHEREAS, the brewers of Minnesota have created some of the most respected brands in 1.13the United States; and 1.14WHEREAS, the brewers of Minnesota have created some of the most creative and 1.15revolutionary beverages in the United States; and 1.16WHEREAS, the brewers of Minnesota have faced great adversity from the lingering effects 1.17of prohibition yet they are resilient; and 1.18WHEREAS, the brewers of Minnesota have faced great adversity from COVID-19 decimating 1.19their business models yet they are resilient; and 1.20WHEREAS, the brewers of Minnesota continue to satisfy and impress consumers not just 1.21in the state but in the world; and 1.22NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it 1.23declares that henceforth November 1 shall be celebrated as Minnesota Beer Day in the State of 1.24Minnesota.
