1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring rockabilly artist Robby Vee.
1.3WHEREAS, Robby Vee was born Robert Velline, named after his father Bobby Vee, a
1.4rock-and-roll legend and teen idol of the 1960s; and
1.5WHEREAS, Robby keeps his father's legacy vivid while forging his own sound and
1.6style on the contemporary rock landscape; and
1.7WHEREAS, he has played and toured with many legendary musicians, and has won praise
1.8from scores of artists, including Paul McCartney and Andrew Lloyd Webber; and
1.9WHEREAS, Robby is involved with several charities, namely the Alzheimers Foundation
1.10Of America and National Fallen Firefighters Foundation; and
1.11WHEREAS, Robby retains a deep connection to and fondness for the upper Midwest,
1.12and Minnesotans will have numerous opportunities to experience The Prince of Twang and
1.13his electrifying band in 2015; and
1.14NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.15honors Robby Vee for his life, art, and legacy.
1.16BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.17enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.18Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Robby Vee.
