1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating Alex Erpelding on winning the 2017 State High School Class A
1.3individual boys wrestling championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Staples-Motley wrestling team participated in the 2017 State High School
1.7Class A boys wrestling tournament March 2-4, at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul; and
1.8WHEREAS, Alex was 10-4 in the tournament. He ended his final high school season with
1.9an outstanding 45-1 record and finished his career with a school record, 181 victories and 50 losses.
1.10Alex also had more than 100 pins in his career, another school record; and
1.11NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.12congratulations are extended to Alex Erpelding of Staples-Motley High School boys wrestling team
1.13for his sportsmanship and skill.
1.14BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.15enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.16Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Alex Erpelding.
