1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Hopkins High School girls basketball team on winning 1.3the 2011 State High School Class AAAA girls basketball championship. 1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of 1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and 1.6WHEREAS, the Hopkins basketball team participated in the 2011 State High School Class 1.7AAAA girls basketball tournament from March 16-19, 2011, at Target Center in Minneapolis; and 1.8WHEREAS, they defeated Eden Prairie Eagles 67-45 in the final game of the tournament 1.9to win the state championship; and 1.10WHEREAS, the Royals finished the season with an outstanding 27-2 record; and 1.11NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota 1.12that congratulations are extended to the members of the Hopkins High School girls basketball 1.13team for their sportsmanship and skill. 1.14BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare 1.15an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of 1.16the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal 1.17of Hopkins High School.
