1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Janet Bremer of Hastings on being named America's Farmers Mom
1.3of the Year.
1.4WHEREAS, America's Farmers Mom of the Year is a program that celebrates women and
1.5their contributions to their farms, communities, and the agriculture industry; and
1.6WHEREAS, Janet was one of ten regional winners and each winner has the opportunity to
1.7give $1,000 to an eligible nonprofit in their community; and
1.8WHEREAS, Janet chose Hastings Family Service. Every December Janet's family holds a
1.9food drive called Santa on the Farm to show their support and uses the money raised to provide
1.10dairy foods to the food shelf as another way of contributing to the organization; and
1.11WHEREAS, the food shelf at Hastings Family Service, known as the Market, serves
1.12approximately 100 families and individuals each month, and 45 percent of those recipients are
1.13children; and
1.14NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.15congratulates Janet Bremer of Hastings on being named America's Farmers Mom of the Year and
1.16extends best wishes to her for the future.
1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.18enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.19Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Janet Bremer.
