1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Grand Meadow High School football team on winning the 2014
1.3State High School Nine-Man football championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Grand Meadow Superlarks participated in the 2014 State High School
1.7Nine-Man football tournament; and
1.8WHEREAS, they defeated the Edgerton/Ellsworth Flying Dutchmen 48-0 in the final
1.9game of the tournament at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis to win the state championship, their
1.10second consecutive state title; and
1.11WHEREAS, the Superlarks finished the season with an outstanding 14-0 record; and
1.12NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.13congratulations are extended to the members of the Grand Meadow High School football team
1.14and coach Gary Sloan and his assistants for their sportsmanship and skill.
1.15BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.16enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.17Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the superintendent of
1.18Grand Meadow High School.
