1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Kasson-Mantorville High School girls softball team on winning
1.3the 2014 State High School Class AA girls softball championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the KoMets are the first girls team in Kasson-Mantorville High School's
1.7history to earn a state championship; and
1.8WHEREAS, the Kasson-Mantorville softball team participated in the 2014 State High
1.9School Class AA girls softball tournament on June 4-5, 2014, at Caswell Park in North Mankato;
1.10and
1.11WHEREAS, they defeated the LeSueur-Henderson Giants 3 - 0 in the final game of the
1.12tournament to win the state championship; and
1.13WHEREAS, the KoMets finished the regular season with an outstanding 28 - 0 record; and
1.14NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota
1.15that congratulations are extended to the members of the Kasson-Mantorville High School girls
1.16softball team for their sportsmanship and skill.
1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare
1.18an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of
1.19the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of
1.20Kasson-Mantorville High School.
