1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Susan Thornton of the LCCMR and LCMR on her many years of outstanding 1.3service. 1.4WHEREAS, Susan Thornton started with the Legislative Commission on Minnesota 1.5Resources (LCMR) as a Research and Planning Manager in 1989 and became the Director of the 1.6reconfigured Legislative Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR) in 2008; and 1.7WHEREAS, Susan is passionate about protecting and improving Minnesota's resources with 1.8Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund dollars that are generated from the Minnesota State 1.9Lottery; and 1.10WHEREAS, during her service, each year brought numerous new appropriations for projects. 1.11Currently there are about 300 ongoing projects and efforts funded by the Environment and Natural 1.12Resources Trust Fund; and 1.13WHEREAS, Susan provided valuable assistance and guidance to people and organizations 1.14with LCCMR projects and was always available to respond to questions and concerns from senators 1.15and LCCMR commission members so that both the LCCMR and the projects funded could be 1.16successful; and 1.17NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it 1.18congratulates Susan Thornton of the LCCMR and LCMR for her many years of dedication and 1.19commitment and wishes her and Gordon a long, healthy, and enjoyable retirement. 1.20BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an 1.21enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the 1.22Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Susan Thornton.
