1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating Tori Labonte of Apple Valley, Minnesota, for receiving the Girl Scout
1.3Gold Award.
1.4WHEREAS, Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, helping girls
1.5to reach their full potential, develop positive values, and contribute to the improvement of society
1.6through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others; and
1.7WHEREAS, to earn the highest award given by the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., the Gold
1.8Award, a Girl Scout in high school must complete leadership journeys that help her discover her
1.9interests, connect with others, and take action to make the world a better place. She must then
1.10spend at least 80 hours planning and completing a comprehensive and sustainable take action
1.11project that uses her talent and passion to positively impact her community; and
1.12WHEREAS, Tori Labonte of Apple Valley, Minnesota, is a serving and responsible member
1.13of the Girl Scouts, and has completed all requirements necessary to earn the Gold Award; and
1.14NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.15it honors Tori Labonte of Apple Valley, Minnesota, for receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award,
1.16and extends best wishes to her for the future.
1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.18enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.19Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Tori Labonte.
