1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring the Cannon Valley Regional Orchestra. 1.3WHEREAS, the Cannon Valley Regional Orchestra, under conductor Paul Niemisto, is 1.4celebrating its Thirty-Fifth Season; and 1.5WHEREAS, the Orchestra has served amateur musicians in Northfield and nearby 1.6communities such as Faribault, Cannon Falls, Red Wing, Farmington, Owatonna, New Ulm, 1.7Montgomery, Stanton, Lakeville, Lonsdale, and Kenyon; and 1.8WHEREAS, the CVRO has also presented concerts in most of these communities since 1.91979; and 1.10WHEREAS, the orchestra has provided a platform for many local individuals to be soloists 1.11in concerts; and 1.12WHEREAS, the CVRO has collaborated with many other musical groups in the region in 1.13presenting larger works, such as Handel's Messiah and Tschaikowsky's Nutcracker ballet; and 1.14NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it 1.15declares Saturday, May 9, 2015, to be Cannon Valley Regional Orchestra Day in Minnesota. 1.16BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare 1.17an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of 1.18the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the Cannon 1.19Valley Regional Orchestra.
