1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Andover High School girls hockey team on winning the 2022 State
1.3High School Class 2A girls hockey championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Andover hockey team participated in the 2022 State High School Class 2A
1.7girls hockey tournament from February 24-26, 2022, at the Xcel Energy Center; and
1.8WHEREAS, they defeated the Minnetonka Skippers 5-4 in the final game of the tournament
1.9to win the state championship; and
1.10WHEREAS, the Huskies scored the winning goal during the last two minutes of the final
1.11period to secure the team's second state championship in three years; and
1.12WHEREAS, the Huskies finished the season undefeated with an outstanding 30-0 record;
1.13and
1.14NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.15congratulations are extended to the members of the Andover High School girls hockey team for
1.16their sportsmanship and skill.
1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.18enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.19Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of Andover
1.20High School.
