A bill for an act
relating to economic development; appropriating money for a grant to fund physical
accessibility improvements to performing arts spaces; requiring a report.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2022 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
employment and economic development for a grant to an appropriate nonprofit to fund
improvements to performing arts spaces to make their spaces physically accessible to
performers and other workers in the arts who are individuals with disabilities. The nonprofit
selected by the commissioner may use the funds for subgrants or to create a revolving loan
fund for low- or no-interest loans to make the improvements. By January 15, 2023, the
commissioner shall submit a report to the chairs of the house of representatives and senate
committees with jurisdiction over economic development on grant outcomes.
