  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to health; requiring a report in certain 
  1.3             circumstances on reducing health care costs and 
  1.4             improving health care quality. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [REPORT BY TASK FORCE.] 
  1.7      The joint task force on health care costs and quality shall 
  1.8   review prospective review and approval under Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.9   section 62J.17, subdivision 6a, for a health care provider 
  1.10  making a major spending commitment as defined in Minnesota 
  1.11  Statutes, section 62J.17, and shall report to the legislature by 
  1.12  December 15, 2002, on whether the provisions will reduce health 
  1.13  care costs and/or improve health care quality.
