A bill for an act
relating to transportation; mass transit; prohibiting certain expenditures and
planning for streetcar lines; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 174.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin Metropolitan Council. new text end

new text begin The Metropolitan Council must not take
any action or spend any money for study, planning, preliminary engineering, final design,
or construction for a streetcar line. The council must remove all references, other than
references for historical purposes, to any streetcar line from any future revisions to the
council's transportation development guide and the council's regional transit master plan.

new text begin The commissioner of transportation
must not expend any money for study, planning, preliminary engineering, final design, or
construction for a streetcar line. The commissioner must remove all references, other than
references for historical purposes, to any streetcar line from any future revisions to the
state transportation plan and the commissioner's rail system planning.
