A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for the Minnesota Shubert
Center for Dance and Music; canceling the 2014 appropriation; authorizing the
sale and issuance of state bonds; repealing Laws 2014, chapter 294, article 1,
section 21, subdivision 13, as amended.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

$550,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund
to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to the city of
Minneapolis for improvements and betterments of a capital nature to the Minnesota Shubert
Center for Dance and Music. No nonstate contribution is required.

To provide the money appropriated in this section from the bond
proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue bonds of
the state in an amount up to $550,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect
prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota
Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.

Of this appropriation, approximately $300,000 is for predesign and design of asset preservation improvements, and $250,000 is to match federal funding to replace and replicate the historic cupolas on the Historic Masonic Temple of the Hennepin Center for the Arts.
