A bill for an act
relating to health occupations; modifying the list of certifying organizations for
doulas to be listed on the registry of certified doulas; amending Minnesota Statutes
2018, section 148.995, subdivision 2.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 148.995, subdivision 2, is amended to read:


Subd. 2.

Certified doula.

"Certified doula" means an individual who has received a
certification to perform doula services from the International Childbirth Education
Association, the Doulas of North America (DONA), the Association of Labor Assistants
and Childbirth Educators (ALACE), Birthworks, the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional
Association (CAPPA), Childbirth International, the International Center for Traditional
Childbearing, deleted text beginordeleted text end Commonsense Childbirth, Inc.new text begin, or Modern Doula Education (MDE).
