BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

[2.023] REDISTRICTING DATABASE.

Subdivision 1.

When redistricting may begin.

A redistricting plan for seats in the

the Legislative Coordinating Commission's Web site within seven days after the group
quarters population counts of incarcerated persons are published by the Census Bureau.

Subd. 3.

Use of revised population counts.

The block population counts that
exclude these incarcerated persons must be used by the legislature when drawing
legislative districts and by political subdivisions when drawing city wards and other
local government election districts.
