A bill for an act
relating to education; amending provisions relating to teacher candidates passing
a basic skills examination.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1. ONE-YEAR LICENSES.
Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 122A.18, subdivision 2, as
amended by Laws 2012, chapter 122, section 2, a person who has obtained a one-year
license to teach but has not passed the skills examination may continue to teach and must
pass the skills examination by January 1, 2014.
EFFECTIVE DATE.
This section is effective retroactively from February 22, 2012.
